We had the honor of designing a sacred space that invites parishioners on a contemplative journey through the Mysteries of the Rosary. Our collaborators included Domus Studio Architecture and the Diocese of Orange. The gardens are thoughtfully divided into four distinct areas, each devoted to one segment of the Mysteries: Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious. Every space within the gardens is uniquely crafted, featuring shaped walls, intricate paving, and bespoke artwork that reflect the essence of each Mystery.

A sinuous path gracefully weaves through the gardens, guiding visitors from one sacred space to the next. Our work included the careful selection and placement of 17 mature olive trees, which form the Marian Gardens and the Garden of Gethsemane Grove, located adjacent to the Our Lady of La Vang shrine.

At night, the gardens are transformed by thoughtfully placed uplighting, creating a uniquely reverent experience that enhances the spiritual ambiance. This sacred space is not just a garden but a place of profound reflection and devotion.

Building on our previous site improvements at Christ Cathedral, including the Neutra Arboretum renovation and courtyard enhancements, this project further strengthens the sacred and serene environment of the Cathedral grounds.
