We’re excited to share that The Backyard at Esencia by Rancho Mission Viejo was recently announced as a finalist for the 2018 SoCal Awards for Best Community Amenity – an accomplishment the Land Concern team is honored to share with an incredible team of partners. Wonderful things are on the horizon for The Backyard, and we hope to see this project take home the gold.

The Backyard brings the best of Esencia together in 5.5 acres of lush green space. From toasty fire pits and barbecues to covered loggias and children’s play zones, there’s abundant opportunities for residents to embrace an active lifestyle. Plus, with its fun recreational options for the young and young-at-heart in mind, including a zip line, gravity swing, outdoor lounge and event space, it’s no wonder this linear park was recognized as a finalist in this award category.

We worked closely with Rancho Mission Viejo Company, WHA | William Hezmalhalch Architects Inc., and Design Lines Inc. to make sure we supported the grand vision of providing multi-generational residents with an all-inclusive outdoor amenity in place of small lots and private backyards. This fresh new space for this exciting master-planned community offers something for everyone in the family to enjoy with friends, neighbors or in peaceful solitude. Designed on a much bigger scale, The Backyard offers residents the outdoor space they desire in private yards with resort-style amenities they didn’t know they wanted. It not only satisfies residents’ need for connecting with nature, but it also provides the space for them to connect with each other.
